Real Madrid has issued a statement announcing that it has fined midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni €500,000 each.
"Real Madrid Football Club announces that, in connection with the events that led to the opening of a disciplinary case against our players Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni, both have appeared before the investigator in this case.
During the hearing, the players expressed their full regret over the incident and apologized to each other.
They also apologized to the club, their teammates, the coaching staff, and the fans, both agreed to accept any punishment that the club deems appropriate.
In light of these circumstances, Real Madrid has decided to impose a financial penalty of €500,000 on each player, thereby concluding the relevant internal procedures," the club stated on its official website.
It is worth noting that on Thursday, May 7, it became known that during training, there was a verbal conflict between midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni, which escalated into a fight in the locker room.
As a result of the altercation, the Uruguayan player sustained a head injury and was taken to the hospital with a traumatic brain injury.
