The Latvian National Ice Hockey Team Will Play Its Last Friendly Match Before the World Championship in Riga

The Latvian men's ice hockey team will play its last friendly match before the World Championship today in Riga, facing the Norwegian team again, reports LETA.

The match at the "Xiaomi" arena will start at 19:30, and the live broadcast will be conducted by the TV6 channel.

On Wednesday, the Latvian hockey players won in overtime with a score of 3:2. Sandis Vilmanis scored two goals, including the winning one, marking his first goals for the senior national team. Also, 17-year-old Olivers Murnieks scored in his debut match.

In April, the Latvian hockey players played friendly matches at home against Austria (3:4 and 1:0), then in Lahti faced Finland (2:1 in overtime) and Denmark (2:1 in a shootout), and last week in Bratislava met Slovakia (5:1 and 2:5).

The World Ice Hockey Championship will take place from May 15 to 31 in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland.
