Austrian biathlete Simon Eder has decided to retire

Austrian biathlete, two-time Olympic medalist Simon Eder is retiring at the end of the 2025/26 season.

This was reported by the press service of the Austrian national team on social media.

“Simon Eder is ending his long and successful career after the World Cup final in Oslo! Thank you for the many unforgettable moments, spectacular performances, and outstanding shooting!” — writes the press service of the Austrian national team.

Eder won two silver medals at the Winter Olympics: he finished second in the relays in Vancouver and Sochi.

The 43-year-old Austrian also has two silver and three bronze medals from World Championships, as well as 26 podium finishes in the World Cup, including seven victories. Simon Eder has competed in 560 World Cup races.
