2026 Olympics. Swiss skier Franco von Almen is the first gold medalist of the Games in Milan

Today, February 7, the first set of medals was awarded at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

The list of medalists for the 2026 Olympics was opened by representatives of alpine skiing, who competed for awards in the downhill event.

The gold medal was won by Swiss athlete Franco von Almen, the silver medalist was Giovanni Franzoni (Italy), and the bronze went to another Italian skier, Dominik Paris.

The 2026 Olympic Games are taking place from February 6 to 22. A total of 116 sets of medals will be awarded during the Games.
