The sixth-ranked player in the world, American tennis player Jessica Pegula, shared her expectations for the upcoming final of the Australian Open 2026, where the world number one, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, will face Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina (the fifth-ranked player in the WTA rankings).
“We have already seen how Rybakina recently defeated Aryna, and I believe that when she is healthy and confident, she is one of the best tennis players in the world. Right now, it seems that is indeed the case. Yes, the final will be very interesting,” said Pegula at a press conference in Melbourne.
The women's singles draw of the Australian Open 2026 takes place from January 18 to 31. The defending champion of the tournament is American tennis player Madison Keys.
