Latvian basketball player Ulyana Semenova passed away on Thursday at the age of 73, according to the Latvian Basketball Union (LBS).
Semenova was the leader of the "Riga TTT" team and the Latvian national team from 1968 to 1987 - an 11-time holder of the European Champions Cup and the Liliana Ronchetti Cup, a four-time champion of the Nations Spartakiad.
She was a two-time Olympic champion, a three-time world champion, and a ten-time European champion, competing for the Soviet Union. She was the first European woman inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield in 1993, into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 1999, and into the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2007.
