Achraf Hakimi has been named the best player of the year in Africa. This was reported by the Confederation of African Football.
Last season, Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakimi won the Champions League, Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Trophée des Champions with PSG. Additionally, the Parisians, with Hakimi in the squad, reached the final of the Club World Cup in the USA. Achraf played 55 matches for the Paris club across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 14 assists.
Currently, Hakimi is recovering from an injury to his left ankle, sustained during the 4th round of the group stage of the Champions League against Bayern Munich due to a harsh tackle from Colombian midfielder Luis Diaz.
It is worth noting that the top three footballers of the year in Africa also included Mohamed Salah from Liverpool and Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray. A year ago, Ademola Lookman from Atalanta was recognized as the best player on the 'Black Continent'.
