The President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, met today with the Queen of the Netherlands, Maxima, at the Riga Castle.
Recently, it became known that the Netherlands, along with Germany, is opening a Baltic headquarters for a cadre corps of 40,000 to 60,000 troops to protect Latvia and Estonia. A worthy reason for the queen's visit.
However, the official announcement of the royal visit did not raise military themes. According to the office of the President of Latvia, the queen arrived in Latvia to participate as an honorary guest in the annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which is being held in Riga this year.
During the meeting, the president and the queen discussed the importance of financial well-being, which strengthens people's ability to manage their everyday expenses, enhance financial resilience, and develop investment skills both in the short and long term.
The meeting also addressed issues related to reducing risks associated with financial fraud and implementing solutions to prevent it.
