A week ago, investigators had already visited the country's main hospital — that is, the Pauls Stradiņš Hospital. However, this was within the framework of another criminal case. Law enforcement is investigating possible corruption.
The Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the State Police is investigating a criminal case under the Criminal Law regarding the demand and acceptance of unlawful benefits. Oversight of the criminal process is carried out by the investigative prosecutor's office for criminal offenses in public service.
It is noteworthy that the parliamentary opposition has already submitted a deputy inquiry regarding the sharp increase in the cost of constructing the second phase of the new building of the P. Stradiņš Hospital.
Interestingly, Minister of Health Hosam Abu Meri has not commented on all the scandals so far. He seems to be trying to pretend that he is not concerned about it.
