Rumors from the corridors of power suggest that the "progressives" are leaning towards remaining in the ruling coalition.
The 50-minute meeting of Prime Minister Evika Silina with the extremely disgruntled deputies of the Saeima faction "Progressives" has so far ended without results. After asking the Prime Minister all the unpleasant questions, the "progressives" did not reveal their decision to the head of government - whether to remain in power or proudly retreat to the opposition. Apparently, the decision will be made this evening or tomorrow morning. Rumor has it that the "progressives," who find themselves in a clearly humiliating position, will most likely not go into opposition, thereby causing the collapse of Silina's government. It is evident that in this case, there would be an opportunity to create a right-nationalist government, in which there would be no place for the "progressives."
So, let us venture to assume that the "Progressives" will remain in the government but will refuse to take political responsibility for the work of the Minister of Defense, as he was nominated by the Prime Minister. The "Progressives" will suggest that "New Unity" take responsibility for the defense sector.
