There’s no need to rush! The ruling coalition postponed the discussion on the ‘dangerous’ issue of ‘distributing’ money

The coalition will consider the initiative of the 'Greens and Farmers' after the holidays.

Today, at the suggestion of 'New Unity', the coalition council postponed the planned discussion of the 'dangerous' initiative of the Union of Greens and Farmers, which stipulates that the state allows Latvians to withdraw their savings from the second pension level in one case - if the money is needed for urgent treatment: for themselves or their close relatives. In other words, savings from the second pension level can be withdrawn BEFORE reaching retirement age if money is needed for surgery or for purchasing medications that are not reimbursed by the state, but which can actually save lives.

The coalition promises to return to the discussion of this issue in a week, that is, after the holidays. However, it is unlikely that 'New Unity' and 'Progressives' will agree to give the green light to this initiative, which is categorically opposed by holders of savings in the second pension level - individual banks and financial managers of pension fund companies.
