Deputies from the Union of Greens and Farmers are ready to vote in favor of providing the loan.
After another "truce" was reached in the ruling coalition this morning, the head of the Saeima's budget and finance commission, Anda Čakša ("New Unity"), has called for an urgent meeting of the commission. It will take place during the lunch break of the parliamentary plenary session at 12:30. The agenda includes one item - the provision of a €30 million loan to airBaltic.
The meeting will be held behind closed doors. All coalition deputies will vote "in favor".
The Prime Minister promised that this will not simply be a transfer of funds to the airline's account, but a credit line, and the shareholder represented by the Ministry of Transport will ensure that the incoming funds are used exclusively for the purchase of aviation fuel and related logistics.
