"Green Farmers" demanded that the Minister of Transport take political responsibility for the repayment of the principal amount of the loan with interest by airBaltic on August 31.
Tomorrow, the Prime Minister will make another attempt to persuade the "Green Farmers" to vote in the budget commission of the Saeima for providing airBaltic with a loan of 30 million. The "Green Farmers" today put forward two conditions - either the Ministry of Transport "transfers" the airline under the supervision of the Ministry of Economics, or Minister of Transport Aitis Švinka ("Progressives") takes political responsibility for the loan repayment. Švinka initiated the calling of a meeting of the board of the "Progressives" party to decide how to respond to this kind of ultimatum from the "Green Farmers".
Meanwhile, Evika Siliņa decided to pressure the "Green Farmers" by seeking help from the opposition. However, today the Prime Minister faced disappointment - the United List made it clear that it is not ready to vote for the loan provision. Rumor has it that a similar response will be given by the National Alliance tomorrow morning.
