Did not have, did not participate: Latvia's Foreign Minister Braže responded to accusations from Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova

After a four-day pause, official Riga responded to Maria Zakharova, who accused Latvia of assisting in drone attacks on Russian territory.

On Monday, April 6, Moscow issued a "special warning" to the Baltic states for their "decision to open the sky for the flight of Ukrainian drones during attacks on the Russian Federation," said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.

She stated that Russia would "respond" to the Baltic states if they did not heed her warning.

Today, April 10, the Latvian Foreign Ministry issued a joint statement from Minister Baiba Braže and her colleagues. It stated, in particular:

"We, the foreign ministers of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, firmly reject the disinformation campaign conducted by Russia against our states as completely unfounded. The Baltic states have never granted permission for the use of their territory and airspace for drone attacks on targets in Russia.

The Baltic states officially refuted these accusations, clearly stating this to the acting chargé d'affaires of the Russian diplomatic missions in Tallinn (March 27), Riga (March 31), and Vilnius (March 27). Despite the official response, Russia continued to spread false claims.

Ukraine continues to defend itself in the full-scale aggressive war unleashed by Russia, fully complying with Article 51 of the UN Charter."

It should be noted that the Baltic states have repeatedly denied the assumption that Ukrainian drones flew into Russia through their territory. Meanwhile, in Russia, the idea is being promoted that Ukraine would not be able to attack Russian ports in Ust-Luga and Primorsk without the support of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
