The Minister of Economics accuses the management of airBaltic of ignoring the shareholders' demands.

Attempts by the partners to "persuade" the politicians from the Union of Greens and Farmers to agree to grant airBaltic a loan of 30 million euros have so far been unsuccessful. Minister of Economics Viktor Valainis (Union of Greens and Farmers) stated in an interview with Latvian TV that a clear plan on how the airline would repay the loan has not been presented. The company's management has also not provided a long-term business plan, although the main shareholder - the state, represented by the Ministry of Transport - instructed them to prepare such a plan.

"Maybe the company thinks that under the pretext of not receiving the loan, it can declare insolvency?! This time it won't be so easy, and they will have to answer for it!" the minister warned and reminded that at one time airBaltic had already spent 340 million euros in state aid and did not return the money - in the end, it was simply written off.

Meanwhile, the Latvian TV program Panorāma reported that the airline has prepared answers to the deputies' questions. The answers, however, are classified - they are only available to members of the Saeima Budget Commission, which is set to make a decision on the loan on April 14.
