The ruling parties will exchange views on the events in the Middle East.
Today at the coalition council, the ruling parties are expected to discuss the results of organizing evacuation flights from Dubai, as well as the consequences of the war in the Middle East. The sharp rise in fuel and gas prices will be in the spotlight. It is clear that this will also lead to a surge in inflation - all goods and services will become more expensive in a chain reaction. And Latvians have not yet recovered from the shock caused by heating bills.
Additionally, at the initiative of the 'Progressives', partners will discuss the legal possibilities of 'closing' any economic relations with Russia and Belarus. The Ministry of Economics believes that the Foreign Ministry should propose solutions on this issue, while the foreign policy agency considers this primarily a matter for the Ministry of Economics.
The ruling parties are also expected to discuss what can be improved in the second pension level system - to divert public attention from the opposition initiative regarding the distribution of savings in the second pension level.
