"Russian imperialism is leading the Russian people to destruction and dragging along the Ukrainians," said Saeima deputy from the National Alliance Janis Dombrova.

Here’s what the Latvian Saeima deputy wrote on his Facebook: "For a long time, many minds overwhelmed by Soviet nostalgia believed that Russia was so powerful that with its 140 million population, it could easily subjugate Europe with its 500 million people, the USA and Canada with about 400 million, and if necessary, several Asian nations as well.

Over the past four years, the myth of Russia's greatness has collapsed. Four years, huge losses, and they couldn’t even conquer half of the Ukrainian state. The results are tragic. The only thing Russia has achieved is creating a multi-thousand death zone in Europe, destroying infrastructure, and killing a vast number of Russians and Ukrainians.

Russian imperialism is leading the Russian people to destruction and dragging along the Ukrainians who are defending their land. At the same time, Russians are those who could most quickly put an end to this destruction. If they have enough sense and conscience... But I don’t count on that. So far, the desire to die for the Russian Empire and to profit from killing is greater than the desire to live and to raise prosperity through their own labor. Meanwhile, we must strengthen Ukraine so that it can save as many lives of civilians and defenders as possible and defend its country from Russian imperialists," the politician wrote.
