High-ranking leaders of European Union countries visiting Kyiv were shown the damaged Ukrainian CHP plant hit by Russian strikes.
Among the group of visitors was the Prime Minister of Latvia, Evika Silina.
"Attacking the people of Ukraine and its energy and heating infrastructure in this cold winter is truly cruel. That is why we have already delivered several cogeneration units, more than ten generators, necessary transformers, and other equipment that is critically needed for the energy infrastructure to Ukraine. Some of them have already been delivered, while others are still on the way," said Evika Silina.
"We know that Russia is using the cold as a weapon. We are helping Ukraine to hold on and strike back. Since the beginning of the war, we have provided energy support worth 3 billion euros and 11,000 generators," added European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
As is known, more than a dozen Western top officials are in Kyiv on February 24. In addition to the EU leadership, this includes the leadership of the Nordic-Baltic Eight, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Croatia, the Foreign Minister of Poland, and the Minister of Defense of Denmark.
