Parliamentarians have returned from a long Christmas and New Year break.
Formally, the people's representatives have already started working today. However, in fact, the activities of the committees will begin only next week. Thus, the parliamentarians working in the subcommittee on criminal law and punishment policy will discuss in the second reading amendments from the deputies of 'New Unity', which provide for criminal liability for the public dissemination of intimate materials (photos, videos) without the consent of those depicted in these video-photo materials.
In turn, the deputies of the Saeima's Defense and Internal Affairs Committee will discuss the situation in the field of migration, namely the possibility of improving the legal regulation of the entry of third-country nationals into the country.
Deputies from the subcommittee on the shadow economy will discuss the response from the State Revenue Service to a letter regarding the possibility of imposing VAT in Latvia on international platforms such as Booking, Facebook, Airbnb, and others.
Meanwhile, the Public Expenditures and Audit Committee will discuss unused opportunities for insulating houses. Representatives from the municipalities of Riga, Liepaja, Valmiera, experts from ministries, and the State Audit Office have been invited.
