Political scientist, security expert, and reserve colonel Raimonds Rublovskis expressed a hypothesis on TV24's 'Globuss' program: "Dear friends, my message is this: take antidepressants and rest — most likely, in 2028, the President of the United States will be Vance, who will serve two terms." He also gave a pessimistic forecast regarding the war in Ukraine, reports nra.lv.
In Latvia, many believe that one only needs to hold on until autumn, when the presidential elections will take place in the United States, after which everything will fall into place, as Donald Trump is expected to lose in the autumn of 2028. However, according to Rublovskis, we are facing a harsh ideology for at least 12 years, because it is necessary to 'break everything completely' — the 'deep state' in America, liberals in Europe, and globalists everywhere.
European armed forces are small and, according to him, they lack the main thing — the soldier's mentality for which Pete Hegseth fights in the U.S.
"They have not been to war for a long time, having only participated in peacekeeping missions, where there is a thick book of laws and one must constantly ensure that no one is harmed and that no one is accidentally hit," Rublovskis said, adding that this is not the soldiers' task.
In his opinion, a soldier has two tasks — to destroy as many enemies as possible and to destroy as much infrastructure as possible; to win a war, this is what needs to be done. As soon as, according to him, 'vogue' courses, inclusivity courses, critical history courses, and the like appear, the army becomes demoralized, and Trump has successfully eliminated this in the U.S.
We are currently talking in Europe about irreversible losses in the war in Ukraine, but the real number of casualties, as after World War II, will only be known in 50 years, Rublovskis is convinced. Currently, both sides are talking about a million dead on the Ukrainian side and a million on the Russian side. The expert doubts that the society of any modern European country is capable of accepting even a few thousand dead or wounded. And if the existence of the state is not under threat, then why should it send its people to war in Ukraine?
"The existential 'case' will be with the 'Macrons', 'Tusks', 'Sikorskys', von der Leyens — with their positions, with themselves. Those who will not have an existential 'case' are all those parties that Donald Trump will support; for them, it will not be existential at all. And for all those who spread this ideology in Europe — yes, for them...," Rublovskis said.
The situation in Ukraine, in his opinion, will come to some agreement unfavorable for Ukraine, as it seems that Trump is not going to concede to Europe on any issue right now. And Trump can simply, as his son recently said at a conference in Doha: now pay for everything yourselves, we will not give you weapons; if you want to help Ukrainians fight — help, that’s your business, we are not getting involved.
"He [Trump] clearly stated that Ukraine without U.S. support — and we all understand this well — will lose this war by spring next year. They already have no money, it’s about 140 billion, and the question arises of how to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukraine itself as a state," Rublovskis stated, expressing a pessimistic forecast regarding the war in Ukraine.
