The next coalition meeting will be heated again.

With the beginning of autumn, the "green farmers" are desperately trying to break free from the friendly embrace of their coalition partners and remind voters of their existence. However, this is a case where "the swing is worth a ruble, but the blow is worth a kopeck." First, the Union of Greens and Farmers supported an opposition amendment to the Constitution stating that the state recognizes and protects the family consisting of a man and a woman. The amendment was eventually sent to the committee and... there it was successfully buried.

Then the "green farmers" voted for an opposition bill to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention. But again, there was no result - the president returned the bill to the Saeima, and the "green farmers" did not object to the bill being frozen until the next parliament takes office.

Before the budget was adopted, the "green farmers" threatened their partners that if additional funds for regional passenger transport were not found in the budget, then... there would be no government either. However, no miracle happened here either - the "green farmers" ultimately voted for the budget without additional allocations for passenger transport.

But at the last plenary session, the "green farmers" reminded everyone of themselves again - they proposed an amendment to the construction law that exempts individuals from having to prove the origin of financial resources if they are building a house themselves. This amendment effectively disavows the recently adopted rules by the Cabinet, which require builders to show the origin of the funds used to build the house.

The opposition supported these amendments, but the other ruling parties abstained from voting and will try to remove this amendment at the second reading stage. It is interesting to see how the "green farmers" will act this time. A discussion on this amendment and how the power partners will continue to work in an atmosphere of total distrust is apparently expected at the coalition meeting on Monday. After all, there are still 10 months until the elections... For the opposition, this discord in power is quite timely - they can try to push various initiatives with the help of the "green farmers."
