The Saeima will consider two agendas at once.
Due to lengthy debates on the budget, the deputies were unable to address the current agenda last week and will attempt to catch up this Thursday - they will discuss two agendas at once.
There are 10 months left until the elections, and the opposition has noticeably intensified its activities. Thus, deputies from the United List will demand at the plenary session that the Prime Minister and the Minister of Transport report on the progress of the long-suffering Rail Baltica implementation.
In turn, the Stability! faction has proposed to instruct the State Audit Office to conduct an urgent audit of the use of funds allocated for support to Ukraine. The deputies remind that military aid to Ukraine amounted to 573 million, 292 million was allocated for the support of the civilian population of Ukraine in Latvia, and 83 million went for humanitarian aid to Ukraine and assistance to the government. The opposition believes that the auditors could conduct a quick check by March 31 of next year.
Deputies from the United List have submitted a bill to repeal the decision made just 6 days ago regarding the introduction of a toll for the use of roads by commercial vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons.
Meanwhile, deputies from the National Alliance are asking the Minister of the Interior to explain why Latvia did not make the list of countries exempted from the obligation to accept migrants (refugees) from third countries under quotas.
