Late this evening, it became known that the president decided not to sign at least one bill from the so-called budget package - regarding the toll for using highways. It should be noted that this concerns an amendment that has caused a significant public outcry in recent days. The amendment introduced a toll for commercial transport over 3 tons. If this law had come into effect, it would have dealt a financial blow not only to farmers, who need to deliver their products and transport their harvest, but also to end consumers - prices would have risen again.

It is worth noting that in November, the president returned another controversial bill to the Saeima - regarding withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention.
