The ruling parties agreed to cooperate at least until the budget is adopted.
So, as already reported, on Wednesday the Saeima will begin to consider the main financial law of the country in its final reading during an extraordinary session. And this evening at the coalition council meeting, the partners agreed... to temporarily bury the hatchet and adopt the budget-2026 in the form it was agreed upon at the government meeting and as a result of discussions at the coalition meeting. This means that only the previously agreed 4 amendments from the coalition forces and 3 proposals from the opposition will be approved.
What will happen to the coalition and the government after the budget is adopted is unknown. It is only known that the parties agreed once again today that after the budget is adopted, they will sit down at the negotiating table and decide whether these three current ruling parties are ready to continue working together.
