This year, deputies will not consider the budget for the next year at night, said the head of the 'New Unity' faction in the Saeima, Edmunds Jurevics.
Jurevics emphasized that the budget will not be discussed in parliament at night so that the public, non-governmental organizations, and the media can follow the process. The second reading of the budget is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, December 3, at 9 a.m. The work will continue until 9:00 p.m. that day, and if additional time is needed, then also on Thursday from 9:00 a.m.
According to the deputy, it is difficult to predict the duration of the budget debates in the Saeima, as there are many proposals - both substantive and populist, as well as those that deserve discussion. He believes that it will take at least two days to adopt the budget, possibly including Friday.
