The Ministry of Transport has submitted for approval a draft law providing for the signing of an air communication agreement between Latvia and Ghana, according to information on the regulatory acts portal, LETA reports.
As explained by the ministry, the signing of the agreement will create a legal basis for regular air transportation between Latvia and Ghana.
The agreement will define the rights of airlines from Latvia and Ghana, the conditions for the commencement of regular services, and the operational rules that carriers from both countries must adhere to when carrying out regular passenger and cargo flights between Latvia and Ghana.
The agreement will also include provisions on taxation and fees, mutual recognition of licenses and certificates, dispute resolution, and other issues related to the operation of regular air services.
Currently, there is no bilateral agreement on air communication between Latvia and Ghana. New agreements are being concluded to expand the network of regular flight routes.
