Janis Dombrava believes that "the train has almost left."
MP of the Saeima from the National Alliance Janis Dombrava continues to lament on social media about the news from Brussels: it turned out that Latvia was not on the list of countries that received an exemption from accepting refugees (migrants) under the EU quotas!
"Poland deliberately aimed for a result and achieved an exception regarding migration quotas. Not only Poland, but also Estonia, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Croatia.
Our government was busy with other matters... As a result, it has failed. Now it has woken up when it is already too late. They are now trying to make some statements, but the train has almost left," Dombrava wrote on the social network X.
The MP confirmed that even artificial intelligence (AI) is aware of Latvia's failure on this issue. Here is what AI responded to the question about migration quotas and the countries that managed to avoid them: "Yes, that is true. The EU Commission recognized Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Austria, and Poland as countries facing significant migration pressure, allowing them to demand a full or partial exemption from the quotas for relocating asylum seekers. They continue to show solidarity in other ways, such as financially or operationally, but avoid mandatory quotas. Latvia does not have such a benefit."
