Today, the Vidzeme group of deputies has been established in the Saeima for the first time, with the aim of uniting representatives of different political forces to jointly address significant issues for the Vidzeme region, the "New Unity" party reported.
Janis Zariņš ("New Unity") has been elected as the head of the Vidzeme group of deputies, with Ilze Vergina ("New Unity") as his deputy. A total of 12 deputies representing various parliamentary factions have joined the group.
To facilitate cooperation and the implementation of initiatives related to the activities of deputies, deputy groups may be established in the Saeima. Currently, the Kurzeme group of deputies is already in operation.
