Former minister, ex-MP, and now entrepreneur Aigars Stokenbergs commented on the situation in the current government in an interview with Latvian Radio - in connection with the demarche of the 'green farmers', who, together with the opposition, voted for Latvia's withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention.

"But if I were in her (Silina's - ed.) place, I would have tried to show some leadership and soon after the New Year, I would have asked to dismiss all the ministers of the Union of Greens and Farmers, thus preserving my government, even if it were a minority government - especially since there will be no important votes there anymore. And the UGF would at least lose its administrative resources, which they have - all those ministerial offices and so on," the former politician advised the Prime Minister.
