The King of Denmark Frederik X and Queen Mary will visit Latvia on a state visit on October 28 and 29, as reported to the bb.lv portal by the advisor to the President of Latvia, Mārtiņš Drēgeris.
The official ceremony for the meeting of the monarchs and a joint photograph with the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, is scheduled at the Riga Castle for 10 a.m. on October 28. After that, negotiations will take place between the delegations of Latvia and Denmark.
At 11:35 a.m., King Frederik X and Queen Mary, along with Rinkēvičs, will lay flowers at the Freedom Monument, and then meet with the Speaker of the Saeima, Ināra Mūrniece, and Prime Minister Evika Siliņa.
In the afternoon, the King and Queen will visit the Museum of Occupation of Latvia, the Latvian Academy of Culture, and the Jugendstil district on Alberta Street. In the evening, a dinner will be held at the Riga Castle in honor of the visit of the King and Queen of Denmark, organized by the President of Latvia.
On October 29, the monarchs and the President of Latvia will visit the Ādaži Secondary School, where they will participate in a state defense lesson, and the Ādaži military base, where they will meet with Latvian and Danish soldiers and defense ministers.
At the end of the visit, at 3:30 p.m., a reception organized by Denmark will take place at the Latvian National Museum of Art in honor of the state visit to Latvia.
