The President of the Latvian Confederation of Employers Andris Bite called the budget-2026 prepared by the government irresponsible.
The head of the Confederation of Employers Andris Bite stated in an interview with TV-3: "This is an irresponsible pre-election budget. The attempt to live on credit, as the Silin government is doing, will be costly for society as a whole." According to him, the authorities could achieve greater savings of public funds very quickly if they wanted to. "The public sector purchases goods and services worth about 5 billion euros a year. Cutting these expenses by 5% would be elementary and would already yield savings of 250 million!" noted the expert.
