This can only be done by those who are in this ruling coalition - either "New Unity" and its prime minister, or the "Progressives," or the "Green Farmers." Smiltenš reminded that the previous prime minister, Krišjānis Kariņš, himself destroyed his government.

In response to a question about whether it is possible to speak of a government crisis now, the politician referred to events that took place 2.5 years ago. "On May 10, 2023, a deal was made at a secret meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Rinkēvičs becomes president, the prime minister's post goes to Siliņš, and in return, the 'Progressives' and 'Green Farmers' get seats in the government. If the government is not based on common goals and values, then the crisis is encoded in it from the moment of its birth," believes Ed. Smiltenš.
