On Saturday, the record for maximum air temperature for March 14 was updated across the country, according to data from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center, reports LETA.
The temperature record has been broken at all 25 observation stations. The highest air temperature by 3:00 PM reached +17.1 degrees in Liepaja.
In Ainazi, Liepaja, Pavilosta, Rucava, Skulte, and Ventspils, not only the record for March 14 has been updated, but also the record for the second decade of the month.
The previous record for maximum air temperature on March 14 in Latvia was +13.6 degrees, recorded in 1972 in Riga.
This month, temperature records have been broken on 10 days, with a total of 97 records updated. An additional six temperature records were exceeded on February 28.
