On Monday afternoon, the air temperature in Latvia will reach +10…+15 degrees, making it the warmest March 9 in recorded history, meteorologists predict.
With a weak to moderate southern and southwestern wind, it will be about one degree cooler in some places along the coast, as well as on the snowy fields in the south of the country.
Dry and sunny weather is expected across the country.
In Riga, the sun will warm the air to about +14 degrees, with a weak to moderate wind from the south and southwest.
Weather conditions are determined by an anticyclone. Atmospheric pressure will be 1027–1030 hPa at sea level.
So far, the highest temperature recorded in Latvia on March 9 was +13.7 degrees — a year ago in Rucava.
