Silina: We are monitoring fuel prices

The Prime Minister does not currently see a dramatic increase in fuel prices.

The head of the Latvian government, Evika Silina, noted in an interview with TV-24 that the Ministry of Economics is monitoring fuel prices and so far, nothing dramatic has been observed. "Yes, prices have risen, but this already happened last year when prices increased for two weeks after the strike on Iran's oil storage facilities. I would like to point out that current fuel prices are the same as they were in January of last year. These are nowhere near the prices we observed in 2022," said Evika Silina. She noted that Latvia has fuel reserves of 15%, but these reserves will only be utilized if there is a shortage of fuel. For now, there is plenty of it.
