A Latvian fisherman crossed the control line on Lake Pskov and ended up on the Russian side, where he was detained by Russian border guards.
On Wednesday morning, a border guard from the Estonian border at Saatse noticed a person on Lake Pskov who had illegally crossed the temporary control line separating Estonia and Russia. The responding Russian border guards detained the violator, reported BNS, citing the spokesperson for the Southern Prefecture.
In the evening of the same day, a meeting took place between Estonian and Russian border guards. Shortly before 7:00 PM, the Russian border guards handed over the Latvian citizen to their Estonian colleagues. According to the man, he got carried away with fishing and inadvertently did not notice the border signs.
