The company was saved from bankruptcy by... snow

Sometimes cold weather helps business.

If this winter season had been weak, "Jaharkalns" would not exist next year, admitted the owner of the "Jaharkalns" ski trail and director of the Dailes Theatre, Juris Jahars, in an interview with the TV3 program "900 seconds."

When asked if the period from the new year allows one to "live and look forward to the next season," he admitted that it does. "To be honest, we were on the brink of bankruptcy," Jahars said, adding that if the main creditor, "SEB banka," and "Latvenergo" had not acted humanely, this season would hardly have started.

"If this season had been weak, then next year 'Jaharkalns' would cease to exist. It is impossible to withstand such blows," he said, adding that he does not remember a year when there was not a single thaw since Christmas.
