Half of Latvia's residents have a positive attitude towards the Rail Baltica project, says RB Rail

52% of Latvia's residents have a positive attitude towards the railway project "Rail Baltica," reported the Baltic states joint venture "RB Rail" citing a survey conducted in collaboration with the research agency "Norstat"

24% of Latvia's residents have a neutral attitude towards "Rail Baltica," while 6% have a very negative opinion.

At the same time, 67% of respondents in Latvia pointed out the importance of the military mobility aspect of "Rail Baltica" for the security of the Baltics, and 71% agreed that the project will improve NATO's ability to quickly move troops and military equipment in the region.

As noted by "RB Rail," the "Rail Baltica" project is perceived by Latvian society as strategically important infrastructure in the context of mobility, security, and development. At the same time, public expectations are high, as people want to see progress and concrete work, as well as to clearly understand how the project is being managed.

"RB Rail" also notes that the security aspect of "Rail Baltica" is highly valued by various groups in society, with both the younger and older generations considering it important for the region. The importance of military mobility for the security of the Baltics is most highly valued by representatives of the older generation - people aged 66-75.

At the same time, the survey showed that people want to know more about the project, including the progress of its implementation. Although the overall level of awareness in the Baltic countries is over 90%, some respondents noted that the available information is insufficient. This, according to "RB Rail," indicates that it is important for society to see concrete achievements, information about the use of funding, project costs, construction progress, and practical results.
