No attempts to illegally cross the Belarusian-Latvian border were detected in the first 11 days of January, reported the State Border Guard.
For security reasons, entry into Latvia has been prohibited for 17 individuals over the past three days, including citizens of Ukraine, Lithuania, Moldova, Germany, Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Moldova.
As reported, the government has decided to extend the enhanced border security regime at the border with Belarus until June 30, 2026. The enhanced regime is in effect in Ludza and the Ludza municipality, Kraslava and the municipalities of Kraslava, in the Augšdaugava region, Daugavpils, and the Kaunata parish of the Rezekne region.
