On Monday, colder air with gusty northwestern winds will come to Latvia, there will be snow at times, and heavy snowstorms are expected in some areas, meteorologists warn.
In the morning there will also be rain. During the day, the roads will become slippery again, and visibility will be poor in the snowstorm. The sun will break through the clouds.
The speed of the northwestern wind will reach 12–17 meters per second in gusts, and up to 23 meters per second on the coast. A yellow level warning for strong winds has been issued in coastal areas, including the capital.
The air temperature in the first half of the day will be 0 to +4 degrees, and it will become cooler in the second half of the day, with temperatures dropping to -1 to -5 degrees in the evening; only in some coastal areas will it not drop below zero.
In Riga, variable precipitation is expected, the sun will shine, and the northwestern wind will significantly strengthen - gusts of up to 23 meters per second are expected during the day. The air temperature will be +3 degrees, around zero degrees in the evening.
