"It feels like a utopia. Working multiple jobs, it's hard for me to save anything," admitted Kaspars Markševics, head of the Latvian Children's Support Fund, host of Latvian Radio - 2, and singer, on the TV24 program Preses klubs.
He explained that he receives a salary from two places - in public media and in the organization he leads, plus he performs as a musician, but saving is difficult for him. He has two daughters, for whom he needs to provide education and meet all their needs, and he has a loan that needs to be repaid, so everything is complicated. "I can't say that we live poorly, but saving something is not easy," he said.
In his opinion, those who earn more than 3000 euros can save: "From two thousand and above, then we can finally start forming some savings. Because real life today is such that if you are not just trying to survive, but to live normally and go somewhere to the theater, go to a restaurant or café once in a while, then everyone must earn at least one and a half thousand or more. But we have a very large threshold of people who earn 700-800 and possibly won't reach that thousand by the end of their days.
