The reconstruction of the Cable-Stayed Bridge will cost 69,802,998 euros, according to information published in the Electronic State Procurement System.
The winner of the competition for the design, author supervision, and reconstruction of the Cable-Stayed Bridge is the supplier consortium "Vanšu tilts," which includes SIA "Hanza Construction Group," SIA "Tilts," and SIA "Baltic Design Bureau of Engineering Structures 'Vektors T.'"
The mayor of the city, Viesturs Kleinbergs, noted that this time the proposal was significantly more advantageous.
"The amount of the new contract is 69.8 million euros, whereas the only proposal submitted last year was nearly 100 million euros, which is why the procurement was terminated," the chairman of the council reminded.
As previously reported by LETA, there were two candidates in the competition for the reconstruction of the bridge.
The consortium "Vanšu tilts" offered to carry out the work for 69,802,998 euros.
In turn, the consortium "BBVA," which includes SIA "Baltijas būve," SIA "Abora," the Latvian-Lithuanian joint venture SIA "Viadukts," and the general partnership "3A," submitted a proposal for 70,327,026 euros.
Last year's first procurement for the reconstruction of the bridge was terminated because only one application was received, the cost of which exceeded the financial capabilities of the Riga City Council.
According to information available to LETA, the first competition had a proposal of approximately 100 million euros.
Considering the results of the first competition, the conditions of the open competition were revised and clarified to encourage greater interest from candidates and ensure higher competition.
The reconstruction of the Cable-Stayed Bridge will be implemented using the "design and build" method, which stipulates that one contractor performs both the project development and construction work, ensuring a unified approach, coordination of actions, and responsibility throughout the contract period.
The total duration of the contract is set for up to 36 months, of which up to 12 months is allocated for design and up to 24 months for construction work.
In Riga, there are a total of 145 bridges, overpasses, and pedestrian tunnels. Some of them have already reached the end of their service life, as indicated by both their visual condition and technical indicators.
