At the end of the work week, beware of icy conditions, according to forecasts from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC), reports LETA.
During the day, the sky will be overcast. Precipitation is expected in places — mainly rain in the west, while in the east there will also be wet snow and icy conditions, or freezing rain.
In the morning and the first half of the day, strong ice will form in Vidzeme. In some places, the roads will be slippery. A weak southwest to south wind will blow, with moderate gusts of up to 15–17 meters per second along the coast.
The air temperature will rise to 0…+4 degrees, and in many coastal areas — even up to +4…+7°.
In Riga, the day will be overcast, with occasional light precipitation — rain, and in the morning hours also wet snow, with possible icy conditions. On certain sections, the streets and sidewalks will be slippery.
A weak southwest to south wind will blow, and the air temperature will rise to +1…+2 degrees.
