Precipitation is expected in many areas of Latvia on Thursday — snow, freezing rain, and rain in the west, the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC) reported to LETA.
During the day, it will be cloudy, with occasional clearings in the west.
In the central and eastern regions, heavy snow will still fall in places in the morning, and the snow cover will increase by three to five centimeters. Also, in some areas in the east, ice will form in the first half of the day.
There will be predominantly light winds, and the air temperature will range from -2 to +2 degrees, and from +2 to +5 degrees on the Kurzeme coast.
In the capital, it will also be predominantly cloudy on Thursday. Snow and wet snow are expected, and the snow cover will increase by two to four centimeters. Precipitation will cease closer to the evening.
In some areas of Riga, roads and sidewalks will be slippery. There will be light winds, and the air temperature will be around 0 degrees.
