The State Blood Donation Center (ГЦДК) calls on all residents who can donate blood to respond, the agency LETA reports.
Currently, there is an urgent need for blood group O Rh-negative. The State Blood Donation Center (ГЦДК) indicates that the supplies of this blood group are at a critically low level.
Blood group O Rh-negative (0(I) Rh−) is called universal for red blood cell transfusions, as there are no A, B, or Rh factor D antigens on the surface of its red blood cells. This means it can be transfused to patients with any other blood group, especially in emergency situations when there is no time to determine the recipient's blood group.
By donating blood, anyone can help medics provide vital assistance to patients.
Blood can be donated at any permanent donor reception point or at mobile donation events organized by the ГЦДК.
The center is waiting for donors of other blood groups as well.
