On Friday, colder air from the north will arrive in Latvia, and during the holiday weekend, the sun will shine at times, with precipitation expected, and snow cover forming in some areas, meteorologists predict, according to LETA.
On Thursday, there will be gusty southern and southwestern winds, with gusts up to 20 meters per second along the coast. Rain is expected in many areas of Kurzeme and Vidzeme, and precipitation is also anticipated in other regions of Latvia on the night of Friday. The air temperature on Thursday and during the night into Friday will rise to +7..+12 degrees, but it will get colder on Friday, with temperatures dropping to 0..-5 degrees on the night of Saturday, remaining above zero only along the coast.
According to current forecasts, Saturday will be quite sunny, with brief precipitation in some areas, while more extensive and heavy precipitation is expected at times during the weekend, with snow cover forming in some parts of the country and icy conditions on the roads in places.
On November 18, both sunshine and various precipitation are forecasted in Latvia — clouds coming from the sea may bring heavy snow in some areas.
The air temperature over the weekend will mainly fluctuate between -5 and +5 degrees. The wind will be moderate and variable in direction.
Snow and light frost are also possible in Latvia after the holidays.
