In the first week, residents of Riga delivered 967 tons of fallen leaves, reports the Riga City Council. This figure is comparable to previous years.
This year, the autumn leaf collection points began operations on November 1, and currently, there are 34 functioning points in Riga.
The collection of leaves follows the scheme of previous years — mainly on Saturdays and Sundays, although some points also accept leaves on weekdays.
Considering the experience from the first week, the municipality once again urges residents to adhere to the rules for leaf disposal — not to leave empty bags at the points, to bring leaves only during the operational hours of the points, and to ensure that no other waste is included.
