This weekend and early next week, Latvia will experience plenty of sunshine, while nighttime and morning hours across most of the country are expected to see frost, meteorologists predict, writes LETA.
On Saturday, the cloud cover will be variable, with possible precipitation in some areas of Kurzeme and near the border with Belarus. At night, there will be a light wind, and the air temperature will drop to -2 to +4 degrees. During the day, a moderate northern to northeastern wind will blow, warming the air to +5 to +10 degrees.
On Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, predominantly dry and sunny weather is expected, with a light wind. Nighttime temperatures in most regions will drop below zero, in some places to -5 degrees. After noon, the air will warm up to +6 to +10 degrees.
At night and in the mornings, some sections of the roads may be covered with ice, with the highest likelihood of icing on bridges, overpasses, and roads near bodies of water.
Starting from Wednesday next week, occasional rain is possible, and the sky will mostly be overcast. Nighttime and morning hours will become significantly warmer — in some places, the temperature will not drop below +5 to +10 degrees. On the warmest days, the maximum temperature may reach +9 to +14 degrees.
