The state enterprise "Latvijas pasts" will extend working hours in 49 post offices starting November 1, representatives of the postal service told the LETA agency.
In Riga, post offices located outside shopping centers will serve customers on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM starting November 1. Meanwhile, the schedule for customer centers and post offices located in shopping centers, which primarily operate on weekends, will remain unchanged.
In the regions, 27 post offices will be open for customers two working days a week — on Tuesdays and Thursdays — from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On other working days, they will operate either from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM or from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
Information about the upcoming changes will be posted in the relevant post offices starting mid-October.
It was previously reported that the turnover of "Latvijas pasts" last year amounted to 93.743 million euros, which is 13.4% less than in 2023. The company also incurred losses of 111,203 euros, whereas the previous year it made a profit.
"Latvijas pasts" ensures the availability of postal services throughout Latvia. The company provides domestic and international delivery — from e-commerce shipments and parcels to press, correspondence, and personalized logistics solutions. "Latvijas pasts" is a state-owned enterprise employing around 1,800 staff.
