The Bez Tabu program went to Ziepniekkalns, on the outskirts of the apartment block area on Ozolciema Street. Here, there is an asphalted sidewalk for pedestrians and cyclists. Although the surface is no longer new, its condition is still acceptable. And everything would be fine if a new object — or rather, an obstacle — had not suddenly appeared.
In Riga, various oddities have already been observed — for example, poles in the middle of the roadway. But this time, the level of absurdity is different: an electrical distribution cabinet has been installed right in the middle of the sidewalk. And it's not small — you can barely wrap your arms around it.
On the opposite side of Ozolciema Street, the outlines of a new pedestrian and bicycle path are already visible. However, there are no apartment buildings on this side. Therefore, the question remains open and unanswered — what will happen to this old sidewalk and the electrical cabinet.
It turned out that the repairs are being carried out as part of the 4th phase of the Southern Bridge construction.
City authorities assured that the electrical cabinet will not remain in the middle of the road. Soon, a new sidewalk will appear next to it, so nothing will obstruct pedestrian movement.
